Ding Dong the Witch is Gone? Yay!

I used to visit the lovely world of slash quite often until something rather nasty happened.

The problem was that one of my favourite writers had a pretty ghastly "friend". All the posts by that aggressive person were filled with hate and bigotry. I did find some of the posts interesting so I was foolish enough to try communicating with that person. The response was - to be put mildly - damn scary. That person and several other haters told me I was wrong. Sorry, WRONG!!!!!!

The funny thing was that the Very Scary Person threatened to ban me when I suggested in a private message that they might try to live and love a little instead of hating so many things. My fault naturally. Why on earth did I have to interfere? Stupid, stupid, stupid... I just thought that living like that cannot be healthy. Scientific researches prove that people who are filled with hate tend to get heart problems among other health issues. I never ever meant to ridicule the serious topics that were discussed.

I love debating but whenever I gave it a try I was viciously attacked. It was just not worth it. Very few things in life are black and white. Most areas are gray. They might be different shades of gray but they're still gray.

So I decided to find other forums with (hopefully) more stable company. I did! I admit it was foolish of me to let one rude person ruin this place for me but that's what happened. Now it seems that the coast is finally clear so I might be seen here more often. Maybe. :)

I hope you'll be back here more!! I have missed you! And the idea that someone has been so horrid to you makes me very sad.

Thank you! That is very kind of you. I've missed you too. :) Just think about all the lovely porn I've missed. That's sad, methinks. ;)

Oooh, you have missed some lovely porn! Hmmm. cassie_black12 posted a lovely fic filled with nursedarry's kinks, a lot of which are mine too! And enchanted_jae has written some lovely prony sequels and arc continuations! And I am sure there are lots lots more, my brain is just a bit fried! Oh, and there was another speed_pr0nz round!

I was just thinking about you earlier today, and how I hadn't replied to your reply to my PM and how I hoped you had not left us completely. And then you popped up on my flist... Spooky, non?

Thank you! :) I'll check the fics. I've already read pretty much everything enchanted_jae has ever written. He fics are well written, hot and delightfully short. I love long fics too but I've been quite busy lately. That's why I appreciate short and sweet. Not to forget long and hard. :)) Everything happens for a reason. If I ever find the millionaire of my dreams I promise to meet you all in person. ;)

Oh yes, naturally it's really bad of you to tell someone not to hate so much... :)

I'm glad to see you back - I've missed you!

Yup. The nerve of me! I admit that life is unfair and many things should change - rather sooner than later. On the other hand I doubt that hating pretty much everything outside someone's own little group isn't a very effective way of making the world a better place.

Thank you. :) It's nice to be back. Mmmmmm, porn. ;)

Porn's an excellent reason to come back. :)
Apr. 25th, 2010 08:51 am (UTC)
Agreed. :)

I don't know what happened, but I am glad to see you back <3
Apr. 25th, 2010 08:52 am (UTC)
Thank you. :) It was a weird experience but I hope it's over now.

I'm glad to see you back! I haven't written jack shit since I've been quite ill, causing my muse to up and leave. Working on fest fics now, though, and there was a fic in the speedpr0nz round by me.

I hate that someone was mean to you. Fandom's supposed to be fun.

I'm sorry you've been ill. I hope you're feeling better. :)

Those posts weren't about fandom. They were just written by a fandom reader with a one-tracked mind. Not only that but a one-tracked mind filled with hatred. I should have realised that talking to a person who cannot form a sentence without a couple of f-words might not be company I'm used to... I didn't grow up in a rough neighbourhood and I prefer polite people. I'm not a particularly nice person but I do appreciate nice manners.

Oh poor dear! I know exactly how you feel, I was hammered by someone having a loopy period last year and it was very demoralising. But hang in there! The loopy run out of energy eventually, and the rest of us are very fond of you!
Apr. 25th, 2010 09:03 am (UTC)
Thank you! :) I'm very fond of you too even though you're not slim, blond, young men with aristrocratic features and a lot of money. ;) Nobody asked me to stick my head in a bee hive but I did. Usually I tend to avoid aggressive people but I was trying to save that person from themselves. I tend to do that. It's a very dangerous and extremely stupid hobby. :D

I'm sorry you had that experience - unfortunately, things like that happen a lot. Some people just have to hate because its the only way they can express themselves.

I'm happy to see you here, and hope all the negativity is past.
Apr. 25th, 2010 09:13 am (UTC)
Thank you. I hope you're feeling well. :)

As usually I love your icon. "If in doubt, dangerously overeact". That might be my motto. That actually IS my motto. :D

I knew in the beginning that talking to a person like that was a huge mistake. Being me I did it anyway. I'm still kind of surprised that mob didn't hunt me down with torches and pitchforks. I'm positive they used to go to school armed. Unfortunately I'm not kidding. That was a scary crowd! :(

I'm not following...

How did this one horrid person prevent you from enjoying slash?

Also, people who respond to debate with vicious attacks are unstable and unreasonable fanatics of whatever position they hold so dear.
Apr. 25th, 2010 09:33 pm (UTC)
Naturally the choice was mine.

It didn't prevent me from reading slash but visiting LiveJournal wasn't as fun any more as it used to be.
I did visit the hexfiles among some other forums but that just wasn't the same.

That person was never on my own flist. I used to start from a very popular writer's journal and see if there was anything worth reading on their friend page. There often was.

It was just that the messages filled with hatred were fascinating. I had to read them to see what was going on in that person's head. It was kind of like looking at the solar eclipse. Very dangerous but somehow alluring. :D Reading was fine but then I decided to comment and that was a huge mistake. I didn't realise I should have been part of that particular group to fit in. All the other people seemed to be their personal enemies. That's why they were entitled to behave badly and for instance swear a lot. They were always the mistreated victims. As I said they were a pretty scary crowd.

*pets* You just stick here with the slightly-less-crazy crowd.
